Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ-NVDA) has acquired OctoAI for $250 million, marking Nvidia’s fifth acquisition this year and underscoring the company’s aggressive strategy to build a comprehensive generative AI for the enterprise. OctoAI, known as OctoStack, specializes in generative AI tools. It enables customers to run generative AI in their own environments, including any cloud platform, VPC or on-premise, and offers full control over their own data. The acquisition by Nvidia comes at a critical time when enterprises are grappling with the complexity of implementing and scaling generative AI solutions. OctoAI’s current offering includes a cloud-based platform that enables developers to deploy and run AI models with high performance and significant efficiency. Their technology supports multiple chip architectures, including those from Nvidia competitors such as AMD and Intel, making it a versatile solution for enterprises looking to leverage AI without being tied to a single hardware vendor.

In Denver, CEO Jensen Huang described the company’s role in the development of artificial intelligence, as well as chips and hardware in the world. For example, the company is currently making AI services and models available to help robot makers accelerate the development of humanoid robots to help researchers teach robots how to perform certain tasks using devices such as Apple’s Vision Pro virtual glasses. The company also recently revealed at a conference in Denver, a future collaboration between Nvidia and Facebook in the areas of graphics and virtual environments. Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ-NVDA) also pays regular quarterly dividends to its shareholders. The dividend yield is currently 0.03% per annum and the actual dividend amount has been approved by the company’s general meeting of shareholders at $0.04 per share. The average target price for the short to medium term investment horizon has been set at $152.44 per share.
